Course Objectives:
- Recognize the planes of motion and direction of movement allowed at the four shoulder girdle joints.

- Implement client health screening and assessment of the shoulder girdle, and develop an appropriate exercise program based on the client’s current condition.
- Describe the process of impingement syndrome, the activities that aggravate the condition, and the exercises that can help reduce its occurrence.
- Understand the mechanism of rotator cuff tears and the client’s options for treatment and exercise.
- Teach appropriate exercises for the shoulder, including proper positioning, execution, client reminders, and modifications.
